Williamsport, MD – Janice LaRue (Gossard) Gray, 92, of Williamsport, MD, died on Wednesday April 10, 2024, at Homewood at Williamsport.
She was born on April 16, 1931, in Halfway, MD to the late Joseph T. Gossard and Laura Katherine Gossard.
Janice was a loving mother, a wonderful homemaker, and she loved baking. She loved people and this was especially true of her time with her grandchildren.
She was employed at both Washington County Hospital and the ARC of Washington County.
Janice was a proud member of the Red Feather Council #59, Degree of Pocohontas in Williamsport, MD for over 50 years, holding numerous local and state offices and receiving numerous awards/accolades. She was also a member of the Past Pocohontas Association, Potomac Fish and Game Club Auxiliary for over 70 years, and past member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a 1949 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Robert Gray. She is survived by her sons Jeffrey Gray (Jennifer) of Clear Spring, MD and Michael Gray of Hagerstown, MD; three grandchildren Mandi Gray, of Hagerstown, MD, Kerrington M. Gray, and Kourtney Gray of Clear Spring, MD; two great grandchildren Sophie and Dustin.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters Doris Cunningham and Jodi Gore, daughter-in-law Clarissa Gray, and many dear friends.
Services will be private.
